Sophie recieves bike from Paul Keighley

Four year-old Sofie Davidson from Newport in Middlesbrough, who suffers from Spina Bifida, has been given a helping hand in the form of a special motorised bike to help her get around….

Thanks to support from the Benfield Charitable Trust and Assistant Service Manager, Andy Price from Benfield Honda, Stockton. The specially design bike was presented to Sofie by Andy Price who has helped raise the funds to pay for the bike.

The bike is powered by hand and means Sofie can now get around and be more mobile and less disadvantaged by her restrictive illness.

Andy Price said, “I was approached by my former wife to see if I could help to raise vital funds to purchase the special bike. I approached the Benfield Charitable Trust and they generously agreed to provide a considerable amount of money to make sure the bike could be purchased.”

A delighted Sofie said “ I couldn’t believe it when I was given the bike. It’s really exciting and can’t wait to show all my friends.”

Mum Lisa said “I am very grateful to Andy and Benfield for making Sofie's dream come true. She wanted a bike/trike so she could be just like her friends so a very big thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
