Durham CCC fan Johnny Fox beat off competition from other cricket hopefuls in a bowling competition to win a package of superb prizes provided by competition organisers Durham CCC and Benfield Motor Group.
A Medical Sales Officer from Ashbrook in Sunderland has scooped the top prize in a bowling competition held live in front of cricket fans at the
Durham CCC Emirates International Cricket Ground at Chester Le Street.
Johnny Fox beat off competition from other cricket hopefuls in a bowling competition to win a package of superb prizes provided by competition
organisers Durham CCC and Benfield Motor Group.
The prizes include 2 complimentary Season tickets to Durham CCC and a weekend driving a top of the range Volkswagen car.
Johnny said: “It was a great experience being able to bowl live at the wickets in front of all the fans on the Emirates pitch. I’m absolutely delighted with my prizes and looking forward to watching Durham CCC next season free of charge and taking a luxury Volkswagen car for a spin.”
The special ‘Wickets Winner’ competition saw participants bowling cricket balls at set of wickets with the final going to a tie break question which Johnny answered correctly. It turned out to be the only action on the night for the 6,000 patient fans, with the Durham v Yorkshire Twenty20 Cup match postponed shortly afterwards due to heavy rain.
Matthew Squires, Marketing Executive, Benfield Motor Group, said “The competition was really exciting and Benfield were delighted to team up with Durham CCC to provide some entertainment for the fans. It’s just a shame the game was rained off, but perhaps Johnny will get the chance to rollback the roof when he takes the VW Eos convertible for a spin.”
