Benfield, the North East largest Independent Motor Group, has received a new award as the top-privately owned business in the North East.

The family owned business, with a turnover of over £300 million, heads the league of privately-owned North East companies in the NCJ Media Top 200 listed businesses.
Based in Newcastle and established in 1950’s, Benfield now has 30 dealerships throughout the North East, Yorkshire, Cumbria and South-West Scotland and represents brands including Nissan, Volkswagen, Toyota, Ford, Alfa Romeo, Renault, Honda, Lexus, Hyundai, Kia and Skoda.

The Top 200 league is commissioned by the Journal, compiled by Durham Business School and sponsored by accountancy firm PWC.
Benfield Motor Group, employs 1,100 staff and also appears in the top performing UK Car retailer Group’s and Britain’s Profit Track 100 league table and recently unveiled an exciting new brand identity and embarked on it’s biggest ever TV and Marketing campaign. The campaign centres around relationships between customers, their car and Benfield and includes new customer service standards and highlights how Benfield is different from other car retailers.
Benfield donates 5 % of it’s group profits to worthy causes through the Benfield Charitable Trust.
